The Dangers of Dirty Air Ducts!

Carper cleaners

Homeowners can spend up to 12 hours per week carpet cleaning, dusting, window washing, and tile and grout cleaning. Of course, the amount of time depends on careers, children, pets, and the number of people in a household. Regardless, almost every homeowner commits several hours each week dusting, polishing, and vacuuming their carpets and floors.

However, if homeowners are not using professional carpet cleaning or professional upholstery cleaning companies, are they really getting their homes clean? What about places they cannot see, such as their air ducts? Although nobody wants to spend money on professional cleaning services, only the pros will know how and when to clean air ducts.

No matter how much time people spend cleaning their living spaces, they would be horrified of how much filth they are leaving behind. On top of that, they will not even want to know about the bacteria, mold, mildew, and other harmful debris that could be thriving in their carpeting and clogging their air ducts.

While our homes may look clean and smell clean after a couple of hours of cleaning, we leave a lot of microscopic debris behind. For instance, people shed dead skin at the rate of 1.5 million flakes per hour! Where does it all go? It ends up in their beds, on their furniture, and all over their carpets. Even more disgusting is the bacteria, fleas, and flea eggs that might be in your carpet at this very moment. The risk for such creatures is especially high on surfaces that have been exposed to moisture.

Perhaps people choose to ignore such things out of disgust. But it is difficult to ignore the fact several that pounds of dirt and soil can build up on, in, and underneath a carpet. Unfortunate, most standard vacuum cleaners do little more than remove surface debris that is visible to the naked eye.

The bottom line is the only way to get carpets, upholstery, and air ducts thoroughly clean is by hiring professional cleaning companies. Obviously, only the experts know the methods and possess the equipment to remove invisible, but harmful, debris. Furthermore, professionals will be able to determine if a home has mold issues and when to clean air ducts.

For those who want homes that are truly clean, the cost of professional cleaning services is well worth it. Most importantly, they will also be keeping their families safe from bacteria, fleas, mites, and even toxic mold.

  1. Pretty scary. I’ve had my home since 2006 and have NEVER had my air ducts cleaned! It’s old and was in pretty rough shape when we got it and Lord only knows how long its been they were cleaned before we got it.

  2. If your ducts needed cleaning you would know it. It’s not something that is so urgent as you this article makes it seem. It can’t hurt to have them clean but in most cases nobody is gonna die if you go a couple years without.
