Three Ways to Remember Your Keys

Emergency locksmiths

There’s nothing worse than locking your keys in your car or house and realizing that you need the help of automotive locksmith services. You become late for your next meeting or appointment, and wind up flustered, stressed, and out of sorts for the rest of the day. While automotive locksmithing can really get you out of some tough jams with relative speed and efficiency, it’s still a hassle to have to call them in the first place.

So, to help you remember your keys so you won’t have to bother a car locksmith, here’s a few helpful tips!

Keep Them in the Same Place, No Matter What.

It’s easier than you’d think. During winter, just keep them in the same coat pocket. During the warmer times of the year, you can buy a cheap carabiner that’ll attach to your belt loop for easy access. This can lead to some jingling though, which can be remedied by tucking them into your back pocket. You can also buy a lanyard to wear around your neck, which you can tuck underneath your shirt.

Always Double Check.

Before you leave your car or house, double check to make sure that you have your keys. Once you’re all ready to go, just do a quick pat down of yourself looking for your keys, wallet, and phone. Once you feel those familiar lumps on your person, you’re all set to head out. That way if they fall out anywhere, you can always be quick to find them.

Write Yourself a Note.

This may only work for a little while, but it can be a good way to form helpful habits to remember your keys. On a brightly colored post-it, just jot down the word, “Keys?” Put it eye level on your front door, or your bedroom door, or by your coat.

If you think these strategies may still fail you, it’d be a good idea to keep an automotive locksmith’s number in your wallet. That way, no matter where you are, you’ll be able to get a hold of an automotive locksmith to get you back into your car and on your way.

If you follow these tips, you’ll never need an automotive locksmith again! If you have any questions about these strategies to keep automotive locksmiths away, feel free to ask in the comments. More research here.
